Henry Sets Sights on Ohio Speedweek Redemption

FREMONT, Ohio (June 10, 2026) - Steve Kinser, Jack Hewitt, Bobby Allen, Jimmy Sills, Dave Blaney, Frankie Kerr, Sammy Swindell, Joey Saldana...should we keep going? That's just a taste of the names who have once worn the title, Ohio Speedweek Champion, and that's all before the year 2000. With eight nights of racing in just nine nights, Ohio Speedweek presents one of the toughest stretches of sprint car racing in the country. Following a less-than-ideal 2025 Speedweek campaign, Sacramento, California's Kalib Henry looks to settle the score in 2026.

Henry, cockpit jockey of the Racers for Life No. 101, enters the week at the tip of the spear in the All Star Circuit of Champions points battle with a one-point lead over Cale Thomas and the Rudzik Racing No. 49X. Despite a tumultuous start to the season, Henry and crew chief Andy Potter have seemingly righted the ship in their last six starts with a win and four top tens. "Kokomo felt like a turning point," Henry said. "Prior to that we had a 11th and 19th place run at Attica and blew an engine in the B-Main at Fremont. We finished 11th at Kokomo with High Limit and since we've finished second to [Aaron] Reutzel in the Fremont birthday race, won a race at Fremont, ran ninth against High Limit at Lawrenceburg, and even got a podium finish in a 360 race at Lima."

The shift in momentum might be exactly what Henry needs as he prepares to trek across the buckeye state; a place he's called a second home since 2024. Henry's 2025 Speedweek is one he likely wishes he could redo, but like much in life, that's all just a fantasy. Following a weather system that claimed the first two nights, Henry took home a tenth-place finish at Millstream before falling two spots the following night at Wayne County to finish twelfth. The highlight of the week came at Eldora when Henry charged from 12th to third while seemingly running down the leaders when the lap counter ran empty. Following an 18th place finish at Waynesfield, Henry finished the week with a sixth at Moler Raceway Park and ninth at Atomic's Speedweek finale. When the dust settled, Henry found himself sixth in Ohio Speedweek points, 97 points behind champion Danny Dietrich.

The 44th edition of the mid-June tradition kicks off Friday night, June 12th, at Attica Raceway Park before traveling to Sharon Speedway and Millstream Speedway to finish off the first weekend of the nine-night affair. Weekday racing action kicks off with Wayne County Speedway on Monday, June 15th, before heading to the Big E on Tuesday. Teams are currently scheduled to receive a night off on Wednesday, June 17th but the date does serve as a rain date for any event cancelled in the first half of Speedweek. Racing action will resume Thursday, June 18th at Waynesfield Raceway Park before visiting Fremont Speedway. Atomic Speedway will play host for the $10,000-to-win finale on Saturday, June 20th.

We took a look at historical data and formulated our keys to success for each and every track featured in the 2026 version of Ohio Speedweek. You can learn about those keys to success here: Inside the Numbers: Previewing Kalib Henry's 2026 All Star Season

"This is what I think everyone has been waiting for all year so far," said an eager Henry. "With all the rain, cancellations, and stuff, we haven't really gotten to race much." Henry isn't wrong either. The All Stars surpassed round 11 of the 2026 season over the weekend in Pennsylvania yet have only completed just five of them. Similar stories can be heard across the Ohio region. Attica Raceway Park completed their mid-season championship last Friday, their fifth completed event out of the 14 scheduled to this point of the season. "We might see some big crowds and car counts because everyone is itching to get out and do something that feels like summertime. What's more American than fast cars, warm weather, and cold drinks? I can't think of much."

You can find information for each night on each track's respective website. All eight nights will be streamed live on FloRacing. For the most up to date information and news regarding Kalib Henry Racing, find us on Facebook!
