Henry Rebounds After Tough Labor Day Weekend; Championship Weekend on the Horizon

FREMONT, Ohio (September 9, 2025) - Labor Day weekend didn't treat Sacramento, California's Kalib Henry very kindly. The 25-year old pilot of the No. 101, Running Boxers Farm, Valvoline, C&H Veteran Enterprises, West River Trailer Sales and Service, Butlerbuilt Seats, Birchard Financial, Triple J Towing, Pub 400 machine finished inside the top-10 just once in three races. That luck changed last weekend when Henry scored his fourth win of the year and followed it up a night later with a fourth place finish.

Over Labor Day weekend, Henry started the weekend with a 10th place finish at Attica before returning the next night and taking home a 12th place finish right back at Attica. At the weekend finale, which took place at Wayne County, things went from bad to worse for Henry and team. In the early stages of the feature event, a parts failure would send the No. 101 machine to the work area and Henry was scored 24th.

The rigors of the All Star schedule kept the team from dwelling on the results for long as the series pushed east to New York and Pennsylvania just five days later. "Not the weekend we wanted but we can only look forward from here," Henry noted.

Freedom Motorsports Park was the host for Friday's All Star Circuit of Champions event, marking the series' first ever trip to the 1/3-mile dirt oval. Henry started the night qualifying in fifth with a time of 12.334. In heat racing action, Henry used his outside front row starting position to drive to the heat win and locked Henry into the night's dash. When the checkered fell for the dash, Henry had driven to second from the fourth starting spot and would once again start on the outside of the front row for racing action.

Matt Farnham and Henry would lead to the field to the green in the 35-lap feature event. It was Farnham who would get the jump and lead the field into turn one. Henry followed in tow for the first six laps. A slider in turns three and four while navigating lap traffic on the seventh lap would give Henry the lead, and the current All Star points leader would never look back from there. Henry would cross the line scoring his fourth All Star win of the season, followed by Cale Thomas and Tim Shaffer.

"We've been dealt a couple bad cards on parts failures and little things like that," Henry said in victory lane. Later in the night Henry dove deeper into the significance of the win. "When you have a weekend like we did over Labor Day, you start to doubt everything a little. We watched a big points lead shrink and had to do long hours in the shop to make sure everything would just get us through the rest of the year. To comeback a week later and win, it erases that doubt and gives us a huge confidence boost going into the final three races of the year."

That confidence would carry over for the next 24 hours when the Racers of Life team returned to Michael's Mercer Raceway for the second time of 2025. With 29 cars in attendance, Henry would time in 7th quick and for the second night in a row, started on the outside of the front row for the heat race. Henry would get around Cody Bova around the halfway mark en route to the heat race win. Saturday's dash wouldn't treat Henry as favorably as he would fall two spots from third to finish fifth. During the course of the feature event, Henry would follow Cale Thomas for a majority of race as the two both moved up one position before nights end. It was Brandon Spithaler who would take the win with Greg Wilson, Thomas, and Henry in tow.

"I can't complain," Henry joked. "We had a terrible weekend and came back with a win and top-5. I can't stress enough how big this weekend was for the team. Andy (Potter) has worked so hard to make sure we have a car to win on any given night and to get some good results feels really good."

The 2025 All Star Circuit of Champions season enters its final weekend and only one will be crowned a champion after this weekend's Jim Ford Classic at Fremont Speedway. In the drivers championship, Henry was able to take his points lead to 29 after the weekend over Cale Thomas.

With a maximum of 50 points available each night, six drivers remain mathmatically in the championship hunt: Henry, Thomas (-29), Zane DeVault (-34), Devon Borden (-56), Spithaler (-90), and Darin Naida (-97). With the expectation that all current All Star Circuit of Champion regulars will be in attendance this weekend, the most points a driver could make up in the championship is 25 which dwindles to the championship down to three drivers in practicality: Henry, Thomas, and DeVault.

Time will only tell who will walk out of the 2025 season with the championship but Henry and team are ready to return to Fremont, a track the pair won at earlier this year during the All Star season opener. You can get additional information at www.fremontohspeedway.com or watch live on FloRacing.
